David Hose -- Managing Partner -- based in Boulder, CO

David HoseDavid Hose, a noted leader in the wireless industry, founded Ideas and Plans in 2005. 

From 2002 to 2004, David held positions at Openwave Systems, including Chief Development Officer and SVP/GM of the Client Software Business. As Chief Development Officer, David was responsible for the business strategy, product management, and engineering development of Openwave’s entire product line, including the mobile infrastructure, messaging applications and client software businesses. As SVP/GM of the Client Software Business, David ran sales, marketing and product development for Openwave’s $100M revenue handset business.

David was previously founder and CEO of Signalsoft, a pioneer in the development of location based services for mobile phones — and guided Signalsoft through its venture funding, subsequent IPO and acquisition by Openwave. Signalsoft’s major customers and partners included Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, AT&T Wireless, Sprint PCS, Nextel, Bell Mobility, Lucent, Motorola, HP/Compaq, and Siemens. Key strategic investors included AOL, Comverse, Intel, and Siemens.

Prior to Signalsoft, David started J&D Software, a C++ development tools business sold to Rogue Wave Software and started numerous software projects primarily in the applications of GIS from desktop mapping to command and control applications. These businesses are now part of companies like Motorola, EDS, and Intrado.

David currently serves as Chairman at Buzzwire, Useful Networks and PublicEarth, board member at JumpTap and advisory board member at Rave Wireless, Networks in MotionRoundbox and Scanbuy
          

Sanjay Jhawar -- Partner -- based in Chicago, IL

Sanjay JhawarSince 1995, Sanjay has been a consistent visionary thought leader and strategist for the Mobile Internet. He has helped to established first markets, industry ecosystems and key early product positions for GSM circuit switched data, GPRS handsets, mobile smart phones, mobile micro browsing, mobile email services and mobile VoIP/fixed mobile convergence.  Sanjay has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and the United States. 

At BridgePort Networks, a leading fixed mobile convergence infrastructure and applications startup, Sanjay was Senior Vice President for Marketing and Business Development from 2004 to mid 2007. Sanjay built the company's category leadership profile, was instrumental in raising an up-round $25m series B financing, closed a global OEM agreement with Siemens Networks, and established and chaired the MobileIGNITE industry association which grew to a membership of 46 companies.

Sanjay's venture capital experience includes Entrepreneur-in-Residence at SPVC (now Vesbridge Partners) in the Boston area and earlier, Vice President - Wireless at CIR Ventures in Milan, Italy.

At Sendit, a pioneer mobile email start-up in Sweden, Sanjay was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development and orchestrated the company's acquisition by Microsoft in 1999 for $128m in cash.  Post acquisition, Sanjay was Director of Program Management in Microsoft’s Mobile Internet Business Unit.

At Motorola, Sanjay was European Business Manager for smart phones, WAP Phones and GPRS terminals, and in 1997 co-founded the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Forum, serving on its board of directors. 

Sanjay began his career with IBM, holding engineering and product planning roles in a business unit producing monitors and displays.  He holds M.A. (Hons.) in Electronic Engineering from Cambridge University, UK and has served on the boards of mobile Internet startups: Teltier Technologies (now part of Cisco) and Hiugo S.p.A. (now part of Acotel Group S.p.A). 
 

Eric McCabe -- Partner -- based in Boulder, CO

Eric McCabe was most recently Vice President of Marketing for JumpTap. Eric launched the company in both North America and Europe, and grew JumpTap to become the leading mobile search and advertising provider to mobile operators. Eric also launched and was the chairman of the Mobile Search Working Group within the Mobile Marketing Association.  

Prior to JumpTap, Eric was Director of Marketing for Openwave, where he developed the company's strategy for mobile entertainment and MVNOs. Prior to Openwave's acquisition of SignalSoft in 2002, Eric had been SignalSoft's Vice President of Marketing, where he was responsible for product management, product marketing, corporate communications and standards. 

Prior to SignalSoft, Eric served as Associate Director of Corporate Strategy at US WEST, where he helped formulate and manage US WEST's multimedia strategy for integrated communications, entertainment and information services, culminating in the acquisition of Atlanta Metropolitan Cable in September of 1994 and the acquisition of Continental Cable in August of 1996.  

Eric has served on the board of directors of the Location Interoperability Forum, a global industry body for the creation of standards in the wireless location industry and holds a B.A. degree from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
 

Perry LaForge -- Special Advisor -- based in Orange County, CA

Perry LaForge is special advisor to Ideas and Plans in the area of startup and equity projects.

He is best known as the Founder, Executive Director and Chairman of the CDMA Development Group (CDG). The CDG, founded in 1993, is a trade association comprised of over 125 of the world’s leading wireless operators and manufacturers. Perry led the development and worldwide commercialization of CDMA since the first proof of concept trials in 1988 during the early formation of Qualcomm and was instrumental in the introduction of CDMA as a second digital standard. Since the late 1980’s and continuing today, he has helped organize initial concept funding, carrier, manufacturer and country support (e.g., Korea, Japan, etc), technology trials, standards groups, evolution paths and CTIA/ITU/TIA approval.

Perry is the founder of inOvate Communications Group, backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital firms, which created and capitalized promising companies in the telecommunications industry, He is also the founder of inCode Telecom Group, a 400+ person wireless systems integration company that is now part of VeriSign is and co-founder of Kodiak Networks. He sits on the boards of inOvate, FusionOne, Nextivity and Airscape and on several advisory boards, including Roundbox and WiChorus.

As a Lead Partner of the international management-consulting firm, Pittiglio Rabin Todd and McGrath (PRTM), Perry oversaw the company’s growth from 6 to 400+ employees and led the firm’s expansion into various domestic and international markets. He retired from PRTM in 2002 after 18 years. 

Perry began his career in the disk drive industry at Information Storage Systems/Sperry Univac and at Conner Peripherals.

Perry has participated in many industry committees. He sat on the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Board of Directors and various CTIA committees. He has been a frequent conference speaker, has worked on telecommunications policies for several governments and lectured in Dartmouth and Northwestern’s MBA programs. As spokesperson for the wireless industry, Perry is frequently featured in both wireless trade and mainstream business media, and was selected as one of the Top 50 People in Wireless for three consecutive years.

Perry has a B.Eng (magna cum laude) from Santa Clara University and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
 

April Ingham -- Executive Assistant -- based in Boulder, CO

April has a history of telecommunications and general contracting experience, having worked for TCI of Colorado (now known as Comcast) and Coyote Productions. Her previous work activities include video production, graphic design, sales and account management. April has been an entrepreneur herself, starting a clothing design company for the athletic apparel industry, and responsible for prototype drafting and sample production. She was also co-owner of a specialty advertising company, where she handled account management, graphic design, and product design, for clients such as Case Logic and MasterCraft. April has a B.A. from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
